Puu Ji Shih Temple
Most impressive and visited house of worship in Sandakan, located 4km out of town in the hilltop of tanah merah. (To get there, follow Jalan Leila to the roundabout which indicates right turn to "Kuil Pu Chi"); the winding road leads up the hill and eventually reaches the large car park). Opened in 1987 after three years of construction and the architecture of the temple's interior are amazing. Build up high the hills and over look the sea and the town of Sandakan are breathtaking experience.
