Madai Cave are located within the Madai Forest Reserve,(Virgin Forest class VI)between Kunak and 40minutes from Lahad Datu Town.Madai caves was under the Protection of State goverment as the inheritance right of Idahan community. Idahan Tribes the guardian of the caves for many years and carries the legacy to the next generation of protector and collector of the bird nest. Every year the Idahan tribes will take turn accorddinly to the leaders of seclected and the harvesting of the Swallow Bird Nest will be collected twice or three times a year. it was facinating for me, to see how the method of collecting the bird nest are such dangerouse work done by the climber and bird nest collector. the traveling shoes.

Tawau to Lahad Datu

  A day tour from Tawau to Lahad Datu took 4hours slow ride and stop few nice places to catch the amazing nature view usual ride only 2hours or less. But if you not rushing and keen to see few local villages, its good to stop and explore.Never know that we would learn and discover. evening entrance to tawau with slow safety drive to Tawau, we reach at evening just great see the sunset along the road.Been awhile did see this view since my last visit in Kapalai Island, A BEAUTIFUL MEMORY ALWAYS marks in my heart to carry on. Biography Archeology study shown that the earlier human(paleolithic) community stay in Tinkayu and Madai Cave.It was the time when early humans gained increasing control over their surroundings and later saw the emergence of modern humans around 20,000 years ago. Stone tool manufacturing developed a more sophisticated tool making technique which permitted the creation of more controlled and consistent flakes. Hunting provided the primary food source but people also began to exploit shellfish and may have begun smoking and drying meat to preserve it. This would have required a mastery of fire and some sites indicate that plant resources were managed through selective burning of wide areas. There is also some evidence of purposeful burial of the dead which may indicate religious and ritual behaviors.
