The Seaweed Jelly also is known as (Irish Moss in Ireland) the seaweed I would like to introduce is "Borneo Seaweed" Borneo Island is rich with Natural Beauty, the mountain and the best dive site in Malaysia for the Marine Lifes include the variety of seaweed. if you know most ready-made food product seaweed comes from Borneo. Sarawak Produce freshly dried seaweed was export to Japan for food production. I still remember we always go for a family picnic on the beach and most of the guy will go fishing and dive for seaweed it's for our lunch. my favorite would be the grapes seaweed "freshly light green color) - crunchy, salty and fresh vegetables from the sea. i love the fresh salty taste like fireworks in my mouth. And another one would be the green, purple, brownish seaweed - also famously known as seaweed jelly. Any Sea vegetables very rich in minerals and here one of my favorite jelly made of Seaweed. 20minutes drive from Lahad Datu small town.. Another interesting place to discover a Private property area own by local Chinese families , a new Marine life and Coral reef conservation base in Lahad Datu. You need permission to enter this private property area. Last year visit with church youths and my latest visit im going diving, the coral that they plant few years back are growing and the marine life start to bloom . Few coral fishes can seeing swim around the corals.. a huge improvement. Here we go again.. Sakar Island (Pulau Sakar) Pulau Sakar located in Lahad Datu 5km away from the mainland one of the nearest Island in Lahad Datu area. Lowland Ultramafic Forest once Gazetted as Virgin Jungle Reserved Class 4 in 1965 with total area 760ha.19years later in March,14 1984 the forest reserved re-gazetted as class 6, mainly secondary forest Due to the increasing of the population,farming activities, Oil palm activities and illegal settlement. 10-15min boat ride to the Island from the local jetty near the fish market in lahad datu. The island almost covered all around with narrow strip of mangrove forest with ultramafic soil. Which a home for the fireflies of Pulau Sakar (sakar fireflies) - The mangrove stars. Some local also said there few wildlife that always destroyed there farm, as the wild boar.
