Atkinson Clock Tower

Atkinson Clock Tower one of the landmark of Kota Kinabalu being one of the oldest structure survived the World War  II. and proudly standing up hill facing the busy commercial centre of Gaya street.  The Clock was built in 1903 in memory of Francis George Atkinson, District Officer of Jesselton during British North Borneo. The Clock Tower made from woods and no nails, the architecture was simple and yet last through years. And now still alive counting the time of the city's, facing the new Development. This Historical Tower is managed and maintain by the Sabah Museum . Eco Environment Structure, human hand made from all woods. Lok Kawi Wildlife Park

Lok Kawi Wildlife Park also known as "Zoo Lok Kawi" located 25km drive on the south west of Kota Kinabalu .The park open to the public on 17th Feb, 2007.With 1.4km forest walking trail Wildlife park fully run by the Sabah Wildlife Department  to observed and take care the wildlife in the park. Surrounding by 280 acres of land including the Botanical Garden which maintain and under protection of Sabah Forestry Department. Animal Show at the Amphitheater 10min walk from the ticketing entrance, the show start at 11:00am and 03:15pm two times a day. The Spirit of the Mountain Every great Love stories become a LAGEND, a words to spread the unspoken soul of the lovely spirit of loyal wife who died and the wind sing the rhythm of the mountain... The word Kinabalu is extracted from the short form for the KadazanDusun word Aki Nabalu , meaning the revered place of the dead . The name "Kina balu" actually means "Cina Balu" (which would fully mean "A Chinese Widow"). the pronunciation for the word "cina" (chee-na) was changed to "Kina" (kee-na) as in kadazandusun language. It was told that a Chinese prince, was cast away to Borneo to search for a pearl" bronoe treasure", when his ship sank in the middle of the South China Sea. He was rescued by the natives from a nearby village. As he recovered, he was slowly accepted as one of the people of the village. And he fell in love with a lovely local woman, and married her. Years went by, and he started to miss home...

Borneo Rafflesia Arnoldi The rafflesia queen of parasite is one of the world's rarest fascinating flowers. It has no root, stem, branch or leaf ...like a fungi. It largest parasitic plant, It attaches itself to a host plant to obtain water and nutrients. The plant produces no leaves, stems or roots and does not contain chlorophyll and are therefore incapable of photosynthesis. It is an endoparasite of vines spreading its roots inside the tissue of the vine to obtain water and nutrients. It is totally dependant upon a vine called Tetrastigma. To reproduce, a rafflesia begins to smell like rotting meat near the end of its life cycle.  The smell attracts flies which inadvertently carry pollen to other rafflesia flowers.  To make matters more difficult, rafflesia flowers are unisex and are usually found within range of the same sex.  Insects not only have to carry pollen to another rafflesia, they must take it to the opposite sex and do so within ...
