The History

The Church of the Visitation was built in 1885, but the parish community already existed since 1848.
French Fr. Pierre Henri Borie is the first missionary was sent in 1847, by Bishop John Baptist Boucho, the Vicar Apostolic of Malacca-Singapore, to work among the indigenous people in Seremban.
some history tells that the French missionaries who set foot in Seremban came from Malacca. in 1845 Bishop John Baptist Boucho sent a priest Fr.Pierre Favre to start the parish of St Francis Xavier in Malacca. it would seem that Bishop John was paying special attention to the material and religious formation of a group of people, the indigenous living in the Malayan forest, so the Bishop appointed a young missionary to work with this community that was Fr.Pierre Henri Borie.
In 1847, Fr Borie regrouped them in a settlement named "village of  Mary" until 1860. before relocated to "Ayer Salak" near to malacca until 1871. Fr Borie had to return to France due to a health problem. And the priest from Melacca continues to visit the community.
Between 1883 to 1885 "Attap" chapel was built on a piece of land secured by Fr.LETSSIER Through negotiations with the authorities.
