Located East Coast of Sabah , 20minutes road ride from the main town of  Lahad Datu via Tawau road, along the road you can see the sign board junction towards Silam Camp(Darvel Bay) and Danum Valley, turn to your right and stop at the Danum valley sign board, were you can see a gate guard check in list and entrance fee register before enter the to the BUKIT SILAM protected area. Bukit Silam are know as the radio station tower which the station are located. When the Government has invest 2.5mil. for new recreation park under the protection of Sabah forestry.The main project is to make the place as one of the tourist attraction without destroy the environment and the wildlife surrounding.
The distend from the leg of Bukit Silam to the up hill station are 9.7km. If you are fit have a enough stamina can go for a bicycle ride with friends.In the morning walk or ride  from 6am-7am the temperature can reach up to 24°C- 28°C up Bukit Silam and in the tower.A long the way you can see the greenery of the Darvel Bay and Lahad Datu land.
Wildlife : if you are lucky you will can see a deer, red leaf monkey, long tail and pig tail macaque, eagle's, etc.and others lowland animal.

Terletak 20min dari bandar Lahad Datu melalui jalan utama ke Tawau. Berdekatan simpang ke Silam Camp dan ke simpang Danum Valley. Bukit Silam merupakan lokasi terbaru untuk rekreasi dimana pihak kerajaan telah memperuntukkan sejumlah RM2.5juta. untuk memajukan kawasan ini sebagai tempat tarikan pelancong dalam dan luar negeri yang melawat Lahad Datu,project utama memfocus untuk membina tempat rekreasi dengan tidak memusnakan hidupan dan alam persikitarannya.
Kawasan ini masih kaya dengan hidupan liar, fauna dan berbagi jenis pokok, dengan itu kawasan Bukit Silam dibawa jagaan Jabatan Perhutanan Lahad Datu.Dengan ini setiap pelawat diwajib kan membuat pendaftaran  dengan staff Jabatan Hutan yang bertugas menjaga pintu pagar sebelum dibenarkan masuk ke kawasan hutan simpan,Yuran juga akan dikenakan dengan harga yang berpatutan.Jarak dari kaki bukit silam  ke station tower adalah 9.7km.Dan diangarkan ketinggian bukit silam dari paras laut mencecah 2000ft. kaki.Untuk meninkmati  keindah kawasan Darvel Bay dan kehijauaan Lahad datu adalah darii puncak menarah dengan ini haruslah berhati-hati sekiranaya hujan tangga menarah menjadi licin,kepada yang gayat atas ketinggikan menarah ini dinasihati untuk tidak berseorangan sebab untuk sampai kepuncak menarah anda harus mengharungi 176 anak tangga.

Suhu cuaca kawasa atas bukit kawasan station tower mencecah 24c-28c sejuk, dan kawasan ini dikelilingi dengan awan dan kabus dari jam 6pagi ke 8pagi tertakluk dengan perubahan cuaca.
Sepanjang jalan dari kaki bukit ke station tower, digalakkan untuk menggurangkan bunyi bising kereta,motor dan juga suara untuk tidak menakutkan hidupan liar yang berdekatan; sekiranya anda bernasib baik inilah hidupan dan fauna yang terdapat di kawasan Bukit Silam;
